So, I do this thing – where I sign up on a dating app and then spend a month (or sometimes more) on the app, trying to figure out if it’s worth the time, and most importantly, investment. Yeah, yeah, I do it so you don’t have to do it – also, it’s kinda fun.
And today, I am here to review Elite Singles, a premium dating app catering to people looking for a long-term relationship.
Also, before I start, I just wanted to mention that I never judge an app based on my solo experience. I always count on my female community, which has 100+ women – these women have always answered my questions with complete honesty and transparency. The only condition? I keep their identities anonymous. So, that’s how it’s going to stay.
Having said that, let’s dive in and find out whether Elite Singles is worth your time and money. Stay tuned!
What Is Elite Singles?

To cut a long story short, it’s a dating app, created by professionals based in the United States. However, the platform is not meant for people looking for something casual – instead, it is meant for anyone seeking a long-term commitment.
Moreover, the app boasts about how 85% of its members living in the United States possess “an above average education.”
Now, is this a marketing tactic that the app uses to carve out a niche for itself in the already overpopulated dating market?
Based on 2019 data from the US Census Bureau, approximately 40% of the total American population possesses an associate degree (or even higher). So, in spite of the app’s claim about being built for people with a certain educational background, I didn’t find any academic restrictions while joining.
Also, most people on the app are in their early 30s and even late 40s.
How Does Elite Singles Work?

Once you are on the homepage, you will be able to spot the registration area. Just enter your email address, create a unique password, and answer the standard, ‘I am a _ seeking a _.’
Once you are able to fill in your birthday and other standard information, you will have to opt for the personality assessment. Please note that this assessment features a standard blend of various questions, such as how you will react in certain hypothetical scenarios, behavioral questions, and questions about your ideal match.
After completing the personality assessment, I was taken to the app’s payment page. Needless to say, you cannot access the app without opting for its premium membership. So, once I paid for a three-month-long subscription, I immediately got some ‘handpicked’ matches for me.
In this context, I would like to point out the coolest feature – the app allows users to update their search preferences as and when required. So, you can update your location or even height whenever you feel like it on the app. In addition, the app also has a page called ‘how we met,’ much like Tinder.
The app basically pairs users with members depending on the two people’s compatibility score, which could be anywhere between 1 and 100. So, the higher someone scores, the higher the dating probability for the same people, as per the app’s algorithm.
What I Thought About This Process?
So, it took me about 15 minutes to finish this personality assessment. As compared to other apps like Coffee Meets Bagel and eHarmony, it takes relatively less time.
Moreover, I liked how the questions were very straightforward. Also, I could answer all the questions with the right information to ensure that my potential love matches could get a good idea about me, rather than how I am as a person.
One thing that I thought was somewhat shady was how I had matches waiting for me immediately after I signed up. Like, how is that even possible?
Plus, after taking the personality assessment, I got the results displayed on a sort of graph that was structured into five different components:
- Neuroticism (emotionally sensitive vs stable).
- Agreeableness (compassionate vs cautious).
- Extroversion (extroverted vs introverted).
- Conscientious (disciplined vs agreeable).
- Openness (inventive vs habitual).
For me, I landed at the center when it came to openness. Also, I was more introverted and easy going, but less extroverted and disciplined. In addition, the assessment also made it clear that I was more cautious and sensitive, which means I was more unlikely to compromise.
Due to the sheer number and depth of the questions, I would recommend taking an hour to finish creating your profile on Elite Singles. Depending on your honesty, you will be surprised to see what you find out about your values and preferences.
What About The Matches?
When I went through the matches, I obtained 88% as the highest score with one person. However, most of my other compatibility scores stayed in the 70s.
So, I was interested in Mr. 88 – in the assessment, I saw how both of us were at the same levels of extraversion and openness. However, when it came to conscientiousness, neuroticism, and agreeableness, there wasn’t much similarity.
Also, I realized that Elite Singles highlights similar personality traits between you and your potential matches. But not in all cases. For Mr 88, it wasn’t true, but for my other matches, it was completely true.
As a result, I am not 100% sure about the accuracy of the app’s algorithm. Yes, it is understandable that you cannot get a 100 as your compatibility score with someone. However, it is somewhat weird that there is a blatant absence of profiles in the 80+ range.
Then there was another profile – and this time we scored 80 on compatibility. But when I checked out his profile in detail, it got worse. As per our assessments and personality traits, we were compatible on paper.
However, when it came to agreeableness, openness, and conscientiousness, we were complete opposites. On top of that, his profile seemed to be very empty, making it difficult for me to understand whether he was a legit person or not.
How Much Does Elite Singles Membership Cost?
The Elite Singles membership has three options:
- 3-Month Membership for $57.95/monthly.
- 6-Month Membership for $44.95/monthly.
- 12-Month Membership for $31.95/monthly.
On the app, all premium members are open to:
- Unlimited texting.
- “Intelligent matchmaking.”
- Option to view the photos of all members.
- Delivery receipts for sent messages.
- See who visits your profile.
- Read receipts for all messages.
Having said that, there is a standard version that comes for free. So, with the free version, you can:
- Create your profile.
- Do the personality assessment and obtain results.
- Match with other users.
However, with this version, you will not be able to view anyone’s profile photos or even text others. For me, it was entirely useless unless I paid for a premium membership.
Cancellation Policy On Elite Singles
Of course, you can cancel your premium membership on the platform whenever you want. So, for canceling your membership, you have to:
- Click on the person icon. This icon is located in the top-right corner of your screen.
- Now, select the ‘Account’ option.
- Click on the ‘Cancel/Refund Your Membership’ option. This option is located under the ‘Membership’ option.
- You will get a number of reasons as options for cancelling your premium membership on the app. Choose a reason and enter your password to cancel the membership.
And that’s about it! After canceling your membership, you can access the app till your subscription runs out.
Also, you can go to Google Play or the App Store to cancel your membership directly from these apps.
Pros And Cons Of Elite Singles

Based on my experience, I’ve listed down the pros and cons of Elite Singles below:
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 1. Most users on the app are seeking long-term, serious relationships, including marriage. | 1. Cannot keep using the app for free. To use it properly, you have to pay at some point or another. |
| 2. The concise and thoughtful personality test helps the app’s algorithm find good matches. | 2. The minimum distance that you can get is 50 miles. It is inconvenient for people who don’t want to travel. |
| 3. Every user is entitled to a free personality test and its subsequent results. | 3. You will only get 5 to 7 matches a day. If you don’t like any, then you have to wait for the next day. |
Elite Singles Alternatives

So, I have been trying different dating apps for over a year. Depending on my personal experience and information I got after communicating with more than 100 women, here’s a list of Elite Singles alternatives at a glance:
- Coffee Meets Bagel.
- Silversingles.
- Tawkify.
- Hinge.
- Bumble.
- Tinder.
- OkCupid.
Is Elite Singles Worth The Hype (And Investment)?
I have always liked dating apps that make personality an important parameter. So, it is obvious I liked the comprehensive personality assessment of Elite Singles – it was direct and quick. Typically, these tests tend to get long and very boring.
The app asked me questions that were a good blend of behavioral and general questions, allowing users to express themselves. Also, it was a good way to express who I was as a person.
Having said that, I wasn’t happy with the absence of potential matches, especially on the desktop version.
Moreover, the search radius starts from 50 miles. This basically means I wouldn’t match with anyone in my city’s metro area. I live at the heart of the city, and 50 miles would mean a distance I am not willing to travel for one date, especially when it is the first app.
Finally, I am not a fan of dating apps that charge you for texting others. I mean the app allowed me to view and even ‘like’ other profiles, but I wasn’t able to text anyone for free. However, if you are willing to pay for the same, then it shouldn’t be a con in your eyes.
Apart from that, this app is pretty good for anyone seeking a long-term relationship. If you have used Elite Singles, feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with us in the comments below.
