What Is Snooze Mode On Bumble? How Does It Work?

The Snooze Mode on Bumble is all about taking a break from your online dating life – it’s like putting your dating life on a pause.
Personally, I am a fan of this mode and love taking short breaks from the dating app occasionally. So, when you turn the Snooze Mode on, Bumble hides your profile from being visible to anyone new. Literally, with this mode, you can stop any new engagement with your profile.
This is the best way to deactivate your Bumbel account instead of permanently deleting it and starting all over. Moreover, this feature is ideal for those situations when people aren’t in the mood to meet anyone new.
But at the same time, they aren’t ready to delete their account on Bumble. For me, this feature gives me peace and lets me choose from my comfort zone.
How Snooze Mode Is Different From Deleting Your Bumble Account?
It’s already clear to you: Deleting your account is permanent. But snoozing your account is a temporary way to deactivate it.
So, while I’m sure you can already understand how Snooze Mode is different from deleting your account, I have broken down the primary difference between the two.
- Deleting your account is forever. When you delete your account, you will permanently lose all your existing matches, photos, profile, and chats. There’s no way to recover them.
- Snoozing your account will hide it from anyone new on the app. However, you can continue chatting with your existing matches. Moreover, Bumble saves your chats and profile data. As a result, snoozing is a very small action compared to deleting your Bumble account.
Will Your Existing Matches Find Out?
No. Your existing matches on Bumble will not find out that you have deactivated your account. For them, everything will stay the same. So, your profile will continue to show on their list of matches, and you will be able to chat with them.
This way, you can continue your existing conversations while being on break for the rest of the app – it ensures that you are not overwhelmed with too many chats and matches.
Can Your Current Matches Still Unmatch You On Bumble?
Yes, your current matches on Bumble can unmatch you whenever they feel like it, and this applies to you as well. So, even when you are on Snooze Mode, it will not stop your existing matches from unmatching you if needed.

What Happens Immediately After You Activate Bumble’s Snooze Mode?
Once you click on Snooze Mode on Bumble, the app will prompt you to select a time period for your temporary break. The options include:
- 24 Hours.
- 72 Hours.
- A Week.
- Indefinitely, until you turn the mode off.
Moreover, you can use the ‘away’ status in this section to let your existing matches know you are on a break. Once you click the ‘Yes’ button, Bumble will hide your profile – the change takes place immediately.
How To Turn Off Bumble’s Snooze Mode?
Once you are ready to meet new people, you can turn off the Snooze Mode. So, follow the steps mentioned below to turn off Snooze Mode on Bumble:
- Open Bumble.
- Navigate to the Settings section on your screen.
- Click on Snooze Mode.
- A choice to turn the mode off will appear on your screen. From here, you can turn the mode off.
Immediately after you turn off the Snooze Mode, Bumble will make your profile active again. So, the dating app will show your profile to other users. Also, you will be able to swipe left or right on others.
Is Bumble’s Snooze Mode Available To Free Users?

Yes. Bumble’s Snooze Mode is entirely free, and it is available for all users.
So, it doesn’t matter whether you are using the app for free or using paid plans like Bumble Premium or Boost. I really love this about Bumble – how the dating app does not charge people for basic privacy features such as the Snooze Mode.
Does The Snooze Mode Interfere With Your Paid Bumble Plans?
No. As I was saying right now, Bumble’s Snooze Mode doesn’t pause or even interfere with your paid subscriptions. So, if you have Bumble Premium or Boost, the app will continue to charge you even after you snooze your account.
So, if you want the app to stop charging you, then check the subscription settings on your phone in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store sections. From here, you can cancel the paid subscription.
Will The Snooze Mode Hide You From Users In Your Beeline?
Your Beeline includes people who have swiped your right already. So, once you snooze your profile, these people will continue to stay in the Beeline.
As a result, you can check them out and even consider matching with them. However, no new users will enter your Beeline after you snooze your account.
