I have always been somewhat adventurous – especially in my love life. Naturally, I had heard about Feeld long before it was even called that. Of course, that speaks volumes about my preferences – and while this is no place to talk about that, I’ll definitely talk about Feeld.
This is because I was a confused woman who was ashamed of her sexual needs – and thanks to Feeld, I could become sex positive in the next six years. And recently, the app was on my radar again – remember, I am on a journey to review the most underrated dating apps in the world.
Today, this oldie is in the spotlight. And it’s been so many years, but the app? Still gold – or has undergone too many changes? Let’s find out.
What Is Feeld?

Feeld, a dating app meant exclusively for the curious, was launched two decades ago – in 2014. At the time, it was known by a different name – a group sex and hook-up website called 3nder.
In 2019, I signed up for the app. By then, the app was already being called ‘Feeld,’ thanks to Tinder’s infamous lawsuit. Also, the app has evolved since its launch in 2014 – but it was still a pretty bizarre experience.
Moreover, the user experience wasn’t great, the app was somewhat buggy, and it just felt like you were isolating yourself inside a dark corner on the World Wide Web. And the gatekeepers of this dark place? People who prided themselves on their love for anything unconventional – what we primarily call ‘kinky.’
Flash forward to 2025. And almost every dating app fanatic on my contact list has heard of Feeld! In fact, as per data we found on The Guardian 1, the app almost doubled its total revenue – the revenue moved from £20.87 million to a staggering £39.5 million, with profits increasing from £2.4 million to a solid £5.5 million.
This highlights an important point – big businesses, including dating apps, are starting to cater to people who have a thing for kinks.
Having said that, I came across something somewhat weird. Most users on the app consider themselves really tame. Moreover, the platform and its open-minded community have evolved over the years since 2019. This is true considering most people don’t even bother hiding the app in a hidden folder anymore.
How Does Feeld Work?

If you have already used popular dating apps like Tinder or Tawkify, then you won’t face difficulties on Feeld.
But there’s one unique thing I noticed (and will always admire) about this app. Feeld supports sex workers. So, if you are a sex worker, looking for an app free of stigma, then this is a good option.
Moreover, the app is pro LGBTQ+ with a solid focus on creating safe, intersectional experiences. Yes, you will find 18 options in the sexual orientation section. To be honest, it’s refreshing to find a platform that recognizes your sexual orientation properly.
Plus, it no longer caters to people looking for threesomes. Of course, you can find that easily on this app. But widen your horizons – with this app, you can get your first invite to a sex party.
Also, it is possible to find someone single to join you and your partner to explore a kink. Or you can just join to chat with someone random about your fantasies.
In addition, most users also enjoy being part of a like-minded community. Yep, you get to:
- Explore alternative lifestyles,
- Make friends,
- Embrace their inner weirdness,
- Discover relationship styles, and
- Feel no shame.
Plus, if you don’t have a large dating pool in metropolitan areas, then it becomes difficult to explore kinks. The stigma around kinks still exists, especially in smaller regions where the chances of meeting someone you know on a blind date are high.
Of course, Feeld’s growth in the recent past has reduced the shame around kinks. But a significant spike in the number of users on the app has inevitably caused a ripple effect. Currently, there are many users on the app – but most of these people know very little about kinks, ethical non-monogamy, and how consent works.
What I Thought About The Matches?
Personally, it is refreshing to have an app where you can meet open-minded people. It’s better than those pushy conversations about kinks on Hinge or unicorn hunting on Coffee Meets Bagel.
However, since the app has evolved to include a broad and dynamic user base, most users have one question: Is it diluted now, especially when you compare it with what it used to be? Is it relatively less safe?
And the CEO of Feeld, Ana Kirova, agrees. She told Cosmopolitan UK, “In terms of scale, there’s so much potential for Feeld, but we have to make sure people are involved for the right reasons and they behave in a certain way. We’re not trying to grow at all costs.”
The Problem With Feeld
Some people in the community are very welcoming, but others might treat you like a spectacle. For instance, some men thought I was easily available to have sex. And then there were men who sent me inappropriate messages without my consent.
The idea is: if you are on the app, you are ready to sext or meet up in person for a similar experience. Moreover, some people even offered to pay me, a problem I have encountered on several apps like Litmatch and Kismia.
And that is my primary (and one of the only) problems with Feeld.
If anyone is interested in joining the kink community but refuses to follow rules, then it won’t work out. In fact, it just ruins all the vibe. I mean, I have come across profiles that say, “looking for a submissive slut,” but seen the same people call themselves Golden Retriever boyfriends on Hinge.
Arguably, both are authentic sides of the same man. But, there’s also the possibility that he is probably outsourcing some sexual aggression. He obviously doesn’t know about practicing BDSM safely, and nurses reductive ideas about the female body that typically play into the Whore/Madonna complex.
Trust me, this guy has no intention of respecting his no-strings matches on Feeld. That respect? Reserved for the girls he meets on Hinge.
Pros And Cons Of Feeld

Based on my experience, I’ve listed the pros and cons of Feeld below:
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 1. Feeld has a supportive community with communicative, respectful, and open-minded users. | 1. While there is a free version of Feeld, the premium package has all the good stuff. And it’s not always affordable. |
| 2. The app offers a safe space for exploring kinks, non-monogamy, and anything unconventional. | 2. Some reports suggest that most users on the app are looking for something unconventional and nothing mainstream. |
| 3. The app is popular for fostering meaningful, authentic, and high-quality interactions. | 3. Some reports suggest that the app is filled with users who aren’t genuinely interested in its core purpose – the risk of vanilla encounters is too high to be ignored. |
Feeld Alternatives

Feeld isn’t really new to the world of dating apps. It has been around for over two decades now, but it is difficult to find an exact alternative to this app, exclusively meant for the curious seeking an alternative lifestyle.
But I did manage to come across a few close alternatives to this app. At a glance, here are the top Feeld alternatives.
- 3FUN.
- Elite Singles.
- Taimi.
- Bumble.
- Hinge.
- Schmooze.
What Are People On The Internet Saying About Feeld?
So, here’s what people are saying about Feeld on the internet:
- “My favorite dating app. I appreciate being able to swipe through potential matches without having to like or not like them. I also like how sex positive most people seem to be. My biggest complaint is not being able to browse people in other locations except the few big cities listed. I travel a lot, and it would be nice to start trying to match up with people before I get to my destination. I really don’t understand why this isn’t an option. The app does lag a lot.” (User on Play Store on 18th August, 2025).
- “I discovered a huge issue with the redesign. On Android, when attaching a note to a ping, the keyboard covers the message, so I am unable to see what I am typing or edit the message (can’t fix typos). Pings are a paid feature, so it’s pretty terrible that this isn’t working correctly.” (User on Play Store on 29th July, 2025).
- “I need premium membership to do absolutely anything. Unless you just happen to mutually match you cannot interact with anyone. Cannot see likes. Cannot message. Not many people on the app. I went through all available within my search criteria in less than 40 minutes. Receive constant notifications of ‘likes’ but cannot see them without a premium.” (User on Play Store on 12th July, 2025).
- “I got plenty of likes and messages the first day after I created my profile (which was why I created it when I did). But, tapping on the screen often doesn’t do anything (regardless of whether I’m using my finger or a stylus). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the problem persists.” (User on Play Store on 20th September, 2024).
Is Feeld Worth The Hype (And Investment)?
Absolutely!
Being sex positive is really good – as long as you don’t make it a fetish or exploit it in some way (sex-positive and kinky women make fantastic girlfriends too).
Last year, the app underwent a nice, glossy revamp that included adding new features that can help users deal with dodgy behavior. Moreover, I feel that so many people are flocking to this app to search for something authentic, something honest, and definitely something kinky.
As a result, both support and privacy are vital points – and thanks to the new features and the glossy interface, users are having a better experience.
Plus, I have confidence in what Kirova said to Cosmopolitan in this context, “We’re [always] exploring ways to connect people in different ways and create other opportunities for serendipity and discovery on the platform. The most important part of our growth and transformation is our commitment to evolution. We’ve made mistakes and had to make changes along the way, but we’ve always done things very intentionally.”
Yep, on that note, you can totally download this on your device if you have a thing for the unconventional. After all, I think connecting with adventurous people is really fun, stepping out on dates is great, and kink sex? Always fun.
