Mingle2

So, I’m back with yet another review. You already know the drill, but for the new users, I’m on a journey to explore the most underrated dating apps in the world. Today, I have a popular (but super underrated) dating app under the spotlight – meet Mingle2!

Mingle2 is somewhat popular, which is precisely why I was dying to sign up on the app and check it out for real. This past month has been crazy, considering I was on more than one dating app, thanks to weird AF goals.

While reviews on the internet made Mingle2 look like a promising option, I was not very convinced. I kept wondering: Is this app worth the hype? And most importantly, the investment?

Let’s find out.

What Is Mingle2?

What Is Mingle2_

Mingle2 is a popular dating app with nearly 30 million users across the globe. Nonetheless, the app has a huge user base featuring people from different nationalities, ethnic groups, and sexualities.

Having a profile on the app will give you access to all members in its communities. How? The app offers users unlimited messaging in the free version – yes, you can literally text anyone. That way, you can start chatting instantly with any user on the app without paying any money.

Moreover, the app prioritizes compatibility and has different methods for matching people together. For once, it does allow users to view who has checked your profile. That way, you will actually know who is interested in you. Plus, you can send a funny text and break the ice.

In addition, you will also receive recommended matches daily based on various compatibility factors as per the app’s algorithm. Also, you can browse profiles of others located near you.

Moreover, Mingle2 allows its users to experiment with different filters and add users based on various factors like orientation, ethnicity, and age.

Most of these features are available on all major dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge. But some features like browsing profiles near you or checking who viewed your profile are available on the premium version – with Mingle2, you can enjoy these features for free.

How Does Mingle2 Work?

How Does Mingle2 Work_

Once you sign up on the app, the matchmaking process begins. The information you are submitting while signing up will actually work with the algorithm to determine your orientation and interests.

So, once this part is established, the app offers easy access to users for browsing profiles of others with interests and traits that you will find interesting. Next, it’s up to the user to match and start chatting with others on the app.

Moreover, it is best to verify your profile – that way, people will know that your profile is genuine. Plus, while matching with others, you should definitely check whether they have verified their profiles on the app.

What I Thought About The Matches?

Sure, the website looks somewhat outdated. But that does not necessarily mean the experience is going to be bad. So, I looked beyond the obvious lack in aesthetics and decided to be positive. And why wouldn’t I have been so? The process for signing up was super easy.

Moreover, the website does mention that without a complete profile, you will not feature at the top of search results. And that’s a major point. I did sit with a blank profile for 24 hours – and I didn’t receive anything, not even spam. Guess, Mingle2 wasn’t joking – you really would not be seen by anyone with an incomplete profile.

Well, that’s a positive point! Also, the app notified me about relevant profiles close to me and offered me safety tips as well. I was impressed – blank and incomplete profiles were not getting visibility, and then safety tips on dating online? Kudos Mingle2!

Now, coming to the quality of profiles, I could assume that the app used to be legit at some point. But right now? Not very sure. While photos look real, the information just didn’t sit right in some cases.

But yes, it made one thing clear: the app might have been a good space for finding real hookups and dates. Currently, I don’t think that’s the case. In fact, I didn’t have a single good conversation on the app. I didn’t find anything remotely interesting about anyone. Also, there are several legitimate profiles – but most of them are now inactive.

Mingle2 Pricing: Is Mingle2 Free?

Yes, Mingle2 has a free version available.

So, with the free version, you can send texts. In addition, you will also be able to read the initial texts in your inbox.

Having said that, here’s a breakdown of the pricing for the app’s premium version:

DurationCosts
3 Months$9.99/Monthly | Total: $29.97
6 Months$7.99/Monthly | Total: $47.94
12 Months$5.83/Monthly | Total: $69.96

While switching to premium, I saw that the app sends a disclaimer pop-up, mentioning that upgrading to the paid version is an upgrade to stand out over other users on the website. It is not a necessity, considering you can chat with the free version.

Free Version Vs Paid Version:

To make things easier to understand, here’s a breakdown of features you can enjoy with the free and paid versions of the app:

Free VersionPaid Version
1. Profile creation.1. See who liked your profile.
2. Instant messaging.2. Browse in incognito mode.
3. Sending and receiving text messages.3. Read receipts for messages you sent.
4. Sending nudges.4. Storing messages.
5. Adding friends. 5. Getting visibility on top of search.
6. Using MutualMatch.

Don’t you think Mingle2 is actually more affordable than other dating apps with premium features like Elite Singles and Tawkify? It certainly is more cost-effective.

What Are People On The Internet Saying About Mingle2?

So, here’s what people are saying about Mingle2 on the internet:

  1. “cool app, definitely has somewhat OK free features. more so than other apps. If maybe they added a daily or even a weekly “find out who liked you” feature, be it three or five reveals to those free features, it would make it stand out from the competition.” (User on PlayStore on 29th August, 2025).
  1. “Mingle2 keeps it simple—no swipes, no paywalls, just free chats and real chances to meet. It’s fast, fun, and a little wild—perfect if you’re up for casual connections and don’t mind a bit of filtering.” (User on Play Store on 17th August, 2025).
  1. “This is a good app. There should be alternatives for premium. You can put ads so we can see and earn coins. Make enough coins for each ad. You can make money from ads and advertisements also. The coins are expensive. and the replies here are very rare. almost none. And make free to pin the like and message.” (User on Play Store on 8th August, 2025).
  1. “Mingle2 is a completely free dating site and app that’s easy to use and ideal for people who want to start chatting without spending money. Creating a profile takes just a few minutes, and you can send unlimited messages to anyone without having to match first, which is a big plus compared to most other dating apps.”  (User oPlay Store on 2nd August, 2025).

Is Mingle2 Worth The Hype (And Investment)?

Not really.

While everything seems great on the surface, when it comes to the actual factors, the app tanks. So, what do I mean by actual factors? To be honest, what matters at the end of the day is the quality of matches – and most importantly, the quality of conversation you can enjoy with someone on the app.

And when it comes to the quality of matches or even the quality of conversation that someone can have on an app, Mingle2 tanks. But I’ll say one thing – the app is definitely cost-effective and does its best to make the space safe.

Having said that, it is still not worth the hype or even the investment. What do you all think? Feel free to share your experience with us!
